Heating and Cooling Maintenance Plans in Latah
With a plan, your furnace and AC get looked after twice a year: cooling in the spring and heating in the fall. We clean, test and adjust the wear parts, then give you a plain account of what needs work now and what doesn't.

What a Maintenance Plan Does for Your Home
Most breakdowns start small. A capacitor weakens, a flame sensor gets a coat of residue, a filter clogs and makes the blower work harder. A tune-up catches those things while they are cheap to fix and before the first cold snap or heat wave puts real load on the system.
Our plans begin at $14.99 a month. That covers your regular tune-ups, a discount whenever a repair is needed, and a place near the top of our schedule when you call. We keep track of when your next visit is due and remind you, so it never slips.
A plan is a good fit if you own a furnace, an AC, a heat pump or a ductless mini-split and you would rather spend a little each month than gamble on a surprise repair.
What We Do on Every Plan Visit
- Cooling check each spring
- The outdoor coil gets rinsed, refrigerant pressures get read, and the capacitor and contactor get tested. Cottonwood fluff and dust mat down the aluminum fins and bend them, so we straighten them with a fin comb to let air pass freely.
- Heating check each fall
- We clean the flame sensor, look over the burners and heat exchanger, test the igniter and make sure exhaust leaves the house safely. For heat pumps, we test the reversing valve and defrost cycle ahead of winter.
- Straight answers on filters
- Bargain fiberglass filters keep debris off the blower but let most dust through. A pleated MERV 8 to 11 filter traps far more and still lets most systems breathe. If your cabinet has room, a 4 to 5 inch media filter goes months longer between changes. We match the filter to your equipment and tell you how often to swap it.
- Drain line and wiring
- We flush the condensate line so it can't overflow, snug up electrical connections and check how many amps the blower motor pulls. High current draw often warns of a failing motor months ahead of time.
- A technician, not a salesperson
- We are licensed and bonded in Washington and Trane Certified. Each plan visit is handled by someone who services this equipment every day, not someone sent to sell.
- Results on paper
- We leave a brief summary of what we checked and what turned up. If a part is wearing out, we tell you and hand you a written quote before any work begins.
Clues Your System Needs a Tune-Up
Your last visit was over a year ago
Can't recall when the system was last serviced? Then it's due. Dust and wear pile up without any obvious warning.
Higher utility bills
A clogged filter or grimy coil forces longer run times to reach the same temperature, so the bill usually rises before you feel any difference.
Weak or uneven air
When some rooms lag behind the rest, a dirty blower wheel or a filter too tight for your system is often the reason.
Sounds you didn't hear before
A rattle, squeal or clicking start often comes from a loose panel, a dry bearing or a tired capacitor. Found early, each is a small repair.
Quick on-off cycling
When a furnace lights, cuts out and lights again, the flame sensor is usually dirty. Cleaning it typically fixes the problem.
How a Plan Visit Works
- 1
We set up your plan by phone
Tell us what equipment you have and roughly how old it is. We explain the plan, answer questions and put your first visit on the calendar.
- 2
We arrive and look first
The technician asks about anything you have noticed, then inspects both the indoor unit and the outdoor equipment before touching a tool.
- 3
Clean, test and adjust
We work through the checklist for that season, replace your filter if you have one ready, and protect your floors around the furnace or air handler.
- 4
Straight talk on what we found
We walk you through the results. If something needs repair, you get a written quote and your plan discount, and you decide. Nothing is replaced without your okay.

What Affects the Cost of Your Plan
Plan pricing depends on how much equipment we look after and what condition it is in. A home with one furnace and one AC is simpler than a home with a heat pump plus several mini-split heads. We go over the options with you by phone so you know exactly what is covered.
- Number of systems
- Each furnace, air conditioner, heat pump or mini-split head adds time to a visit. More equipment means a larger plan.
- Type of equipment
- Heat pumps run year-round and need both heating and cooling checks. Ductless systems need indoor head and blower wheel cleaning that a standard furnace does not.
- Age and condition
- Older systems often need a bit more attention on the first visit. If we see a unit wearing out faster than repairs can keep up, we will lay that out plainly and leave the choice with you.
- Filter choice
- A basic 1 inch filter costs less than a thick media filter, but the media filter lasts longer and catches more. We help you weigh the trade-off.
Common Questions About Our Plans
Something not covered here? (509) 213-1614
How many visits does a plan include?
Most homes get two: one in spring for cooling and one in fall for heating. A home with just a furnace or just an AC may only need one visit each year. We'll suggest the schedule that suits your equipment.
What if something breaks between tune-ups?
Members get repair discounts and are scheduled ahead of others. Our 24/7 emergency HVAC repair has no emergency or after-hours fees, and the diagnostic fee goes toward the repair.
Can heat pumps and mini-splits go on a plan?
Yes. We check heat pumps in both heating and cooling mode, and we clean the filters, coils and blower wheels in mini-split heads. If you don't own either yet, our Heat Pumps and Ductless Mini-Splits pages describe how they work.
Are plan visits really sales calls?
No. Maintenance is about getting more years from the equipment you already own. When a repair is the better choice, we tell you. When replacement truly makes more sense, the estimate on installations and replacements is free.
Is a plan worth it on a brand-new system?
Even new equipment gathers dust and wears over time. Many manufacturers also look for regular service, so a record of yearly visits is worth starting right away.
